Streamlining Your Homeschool with Homeschool+

Homeschooling is hard. Sure, as time passes and you gain experience it does get easier, but initially, figuring out what to do and the best way to do it with your kid is definitely a challenge. Even a classroom teacher with curated resources and team leads would echo this sentiment. So what if I told you there was a program for the early elementary homeschool family that makes everything easier? Would I spark your curiosity? I have new a recommendation for you and it’s called Homeschool+.

Homeschool+ is that familiar face with a glamorous makeover you see walking the red carpet. From the makers of ABCmouse and Adventure Academy (Age of Learning), Homeschool+ was created with homeschoolers specifically in mind and not just the general masses of parents getting their kids ready for school, or the kid visiting the library to use the computer. To start, there is a parent/student dashboard that you can toggle between to both set the schedule for your child and to check their progress. Classes are Monday through Friday with timed core lessons in Math and Reading – 15 minutes is recommended but you can adjust to more or less time as you prefer.

We used Homeschool+ on a MacBook, but it’s available on most computers, tablets, and smartphones.. Just so you know, Homeschool+ right now is geared toward the younger learner Pre-K through 2nd Grade, but is still an adaptive learning, mastery approach. My son was so excited to meet the Shapeys Math Characters that he asked me to add extra time to the math portion of the program. It may look like a fun game but Homeschool+ is still rigorous.

Homeschool+ handles the hard stuff about homeschool for you.  Need Curriculum?  Check.  Need to teach your kid to read?   Check.  Need Foundational math?  Check.  Want to add additional classes including, Social Studies, Science, and Language Studies.  Check, check, and check!

More than anything else, I loved how simple Homeschool+ was to implement. With classes pre assigned in one easy to access platform, I could direct my independent learner to work on his daily lessons without needing additional curriculum. I often let my son use the lesson planner portion of the platform with me to add what he’s learning for that week. Our favorite classes were the Spanish lessons which were an added bonus to our bilingual homeschool.
