Getting Your Schedule on Track with Homeschool Planet

Disclaimer: I was compensated for my time in exchange for my honest review.

What does your homeschool schedule look like?

Personally, I’m a flying by the seat of my pants kind of gal who figures out the day as it comes. I try to lay out the work for the week on Sunday afternoons, and I’ll carry all of my curriculum around in a book bag just in case I need it. Considering we live in an age of Instant, digital access to almost anything we want, you’d think I’d modernize my homeschool too, right?

Right! In order to simplify my life and improve the efficiency of my homeschool day, I took a look at Homeschool Planet Online Planner. Just so you know, Homeschool Planet is nothing new – it was just new to me. It was one of those things I wasn’t looking for and didn’t know I needed. I luxuriated in all of my notebooks and paper, thinking that it couldn’t get any better because it was the way I’ve always done it, even though plenty of my fellow Homeschool Pals were already using it. Long story short, Homeschool Planet is an online Full Life Planner that’s easy to implement and share with your student, and best of all it’s only a click away.

My favorite things about Homeschool Planet

⁃ It’s digital. No paper necessary, but you can print out your schedule if you want.

⁃ You can use it for more than just Homeschool stuff. Add in doctor appointments, chess club, work, or anything else that might come up during your day.

⁃ Email reminders. Find out what you need to do AND what your kid hasn’t completed.

⁃ Automatic scheduling and rescheduling. For the entire year. With just a few clicks.

⁃ Find curriculum and lesson plans to add to your schedule right from their Lesson Plan Marketplace.

What thrilled me the most about Homeschool Planet was the sheer expanse of Lesson Plans available. If you’re Eclectic like me, and work with your child in various themes of Pedagogy (ie, Charlotte Mason, LitBased Studies, Unit Studies, etc) Homeschool Planet helps you purchase lesson plans for tons of homeschool vendors of all genres in one place. Without fail, while using Homeschool Planet, I’ve found tons of new, cool curriculum that my child can use that I may never have discovered.

For the summer, I needed to add in a Music Study, and I discovered right inside Homeschool Planet, Gena Mayo’s “Music in Our Homeschool” which I purchased and added to the calendar to start in June. I can buy lesson plans in the Marketplace, find links to the vendor to buy the curriculum, and add it to our schedule without a lot of back and forth. Use Khan Academy, AoPS, or Teaching Textbooks for Math, or Song School Spanish? Lesson Plans for those and many more can be found in Homeschool Planet.

Not Just Lesson Planning but Life Planning

Our homeschool day goes far beyond what we can find in a textbook. An average day in my home is full of extracurriculars, needed appointments, work, and fun time. With Homeschool Planet Online Planner I can put everything in one place for the entire family to keep track of from their preferred device. If my husband can’t find us because we’re in the woods, natureschooling, a check on the planner from his phone would quickly tell him why we aren’t answering ours.

Right now, Cash is in a hurry to finish his Mensa for Kids reading list before Summer. He can take a look at the booklist he created and check his progress. For me, it’s my blogging and posting schedule that I have trouble keeping up with that the Homeschool Planet Online Planner keeps under control. Homeschool Planet handles more than school – It handles life.
