Make Book Clubs Easy with Literary Adventures for Kids

Disclaimer: I was compensated for my time in exchange for my honest review. Opinions and viewpoints are my own.

I love bookclubs. Personally, I belong to the bookclub at our local library and spend way too much time on Goodreads. My son reads as much as I do but when it comes time to share what we’ve been reading he doesn’t have as many options. Did you know that there’s an online book club for kids that has both live and virtual meetings, costume parties, and activities around your favorite read? Meet Literary Adventures for Kids! Run by homeschool moms, Dachelle McVey and Chantelle Grubbs, Literary Adventures for Kids fill in the blanks when it comes to book discussions in your homeschool.

How does Literary Adventures for Kids work?

Signing up is simple. First head to their website (https://www.literaryadventuresforkids.com ) and take a look around. You’ll find out pretty quickly that Literary Adventures for Kids is more than just a book club – it’s an award winning language arts curriculum. Everything in this program, including scheduling, is done for you. It’s designed to be a fun, easy but needed addition to your homeschool. Make sure you watch the informational video and then browse the available options.

Step 1. Choose an age group. For my gifted and advanced folks, level up as needed.

Step 2. Choose a membership level. This is your most difficult part of the process because just like a kid in a candy store it can be hard pick just one! I suggest going for the full family membership that has access to all of the products. However you can also choose to get a yearly bundle based on your child’s level or a specific book club.

Step 3. Get started! I’m going to let you explore all of the pricing and options but I can tell you first hand that the pricing is reasonable and there are options to join monthly to stretch your homeschool budget.

This is a full year’s lit-based ELA program that includes everything you need. Each book club is designed to last an entire month. Your learner will explore reading, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, writing, comprehension, project based learning, hands on activities and more all based on their favorite reads.

What can you find inside Literary Adventures for Kids?

I’m going to confess now and say that I could not believe how many book studies they offered including poetry! With around 100 book studies, or clubs, for every level of reader, Literary Adventures for Kids definitely has options. Here are a few examples from each level that I’m sure are already on your Homeschool TBR (To Be Read).

How are we using Literary Adventures for Kids?

We are loving our Premium, all access book club subscription. Cash has been switching between Upper Elementary and Middle School for his reading materials with a jump here and there into High School literature.

Using the self paced option, he’s gone back to explore independently the book clubs for books he’s already read. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens was high on Cash’s TBR after a trip to France earlier in the year and I love that he gets to explore it through the High School book club’s British Classic Literature Series. Also now that The Wild Robot is all the rage with the upcoming movie, my kid even wants to start that book club even though he’s on the last book in the series already! In case I haven’t mentioned it yet, every book club ends in a PARTY – complete with food and decorations already planned out for you! Need folks to talk to? If you’re a member you can login for live parties and monthly poetry tea times and well as engage in the Literary Adventures for Kids Community.

A Side Note: If you haven’t noticed by now, the book selections I mentioned are very diverse including classics, poetry, and reads that span all demographics and cultures. For a younger learner you could easily use the book club to explore literature AND history!

I would be failing you if I did not mention all the cool, and needful resources Literary Adventures for Kids has for us Mamas. There are tons of resources and workshops to help you with your school day. Work on your Charlotte Mason pedagogy or learn to teach music with picture books… get your Professional Development fix while the kids dive into their favorite book.

So what are you waiting for? The school year is here and Literary Adventures for Kids is ready for you! Take a look at the program HERE.
